Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers
are thin layers of gorgeous porcelain that cover the surface of your teeth to enhance their appearance and protect against future damage. By repairing cracks and chips in your teeth, correcting gaps and restoring proper length, width and color, your smile undergoes an impressive transformation. Your beautiful, customized veneers are the result of many hours of meticulous care and craftsmanship. We know you won't be able to stop smiling after your first visit. Let our cosmetic dentists in Grand Rapids create the smile you have always dreamed of.  Learn more about Porcelain veneers here.

Metal-Free Fillings

If your teeth are filled with dark, gray metal fillings, you've got more to worry about than your appearance. Metal amalgams can damage teeth. Temperature sensitive, amalgams expand with heat and contract with cold. This movement weakens the tooth wall, leading to fractures, and also allows bacteria to enter and cause decay. They also contain mercury which may have negative long-term health effects. Tooth-colored composite fillings are a safer, stronger, more attractive and more enduring alternative to metal. They conservatively restore your teeth to strength and your smile to beauty.

Your smile is ready for a makeover. Are you?  Contact our Grand Rapids Cosmetic Dentists today for a consultation.

Bridges & Crowns

If you have missing teeth, you are aware of the emotional pain they cause . . . embarrassment, lowered self-esteem and a loss of confidence. They can also be painful and lead to gum disease, bite problems, bone loss and speech difficulties. You don't have to live this way.

A dental bridge is a comfortable, attractive solution. Custom-fit, a bridge is a false tooth (or teeth) that is permanently placed between two healthy teeth and is held in place by porcelain crowns.  A healthy, properly-functioning smile is one of the best ways to improve your self-confidence. The health and beauty of your teeth can be restored and protected in just a couple of easy, comfortable visits.

Dental Implants

Implants
completely simulate a natural tooth in form and function.  Placing dental implants involves a surgical procedure that replaces the missing teeth. A titanium cylinder secured in the bone functions as the root of your tooth. Then a crown, attached to the titanium cylinder, is attached to the cylinder, giving the appearance of a natural tooth. A dental implant is ultimately a replacement for the root of the missing tooth.

Implants are often the first choice when replacing missing teeth because they are so strong and natural in appearance.  Protect your health, comfort, smile, and investment. Renew your confidence by contacting us to learn more about the latest advancements in cosmetic dentistry.  Learn more about Dental Implants here.

Cosmetic Bonding

So you want to enhance your smile, but you are concerned about procedures and cost. Cosmetic bonding is the perfect solution for you!  Affordable and conservative, bonding can be used for a variety of enhancements, including whitening stained teeth (including tetracycline stains), repairing chips and closing gaps between teeth.  The procedure is simple and painless: a composite material is placed on the tooth, then shaped to the desired result. Finally, the material is hardened and polished, creating a natural appearance in both form and function.

In only one visit, we can comfortably and painlessly make-over your smile, fixing the flaws that keep you from smiling with confidence and ease. Call today for a consultation.

Inlays & Onlays

Our Cosmetic Dentists care about your health and offers only metal-free dentistry with beautiful and healthy porcelain inlays and onlays in Dearborn and Canton MI.  Inlays and onlays are used in place of traditional metal fillings that can shift or crack, leaving you vulnerable to bacteria and further decay.

Inlays and Onlays are a more conservative treatment because less tooth material is removed. Unlike fillings, these procedures strengthen a tooth's structure and leave your smile whiter and healthier than ever before. Inlays and Onlays provide strength, durability, protection and brilliance. This defines porcelain inlays and onlays. Keeping your teeth decay-free and your smile beautifully white is our focus at Cascade Cosmetic and Family Dentistry. Please call our office for a consultation about restoring the health and beauty of your smile.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening or bleaching is one of the most popular areas of cosmetic dentistry.  Even subtle changes in shading can make someone look years younger. Several factors can contribute to the darkening of teeth, including the effects of age, certain foods and drinks, smoking, and medications.  Removing the build-up and stains that cause discoloration has never been easier or safer! Restoring your bright, white smile can be done in as little as one hour or over a few, short weeks using customized trays and our clinical-strength whitening gel. Teeth whitening is cost effective, and one of safest ways to dramatically enhance your whole appearance!

Our Grand Rapids Teeth Whitening Dentists offer you the best results in the shortest amount of time with the most comfortable process. Call today for a consultation.  Read more about Teeth Whitening here.

Hygiene

The bacteria that cause periodontal (gum) disease and tooth decay are constantly present in our mouths. Home care is our first defense against this onslaught. However, brushing and flossing isn't enough. That's why we recommend a minimum of two visits each year to our office.  We offer many services that make your visit more comfortable and can help you keep your teeth healthy for life. As a comprehensive dental practice with specialized training, we can give you the care you deserve.

Sedation Dentistry

Terms like painless, comfortable, precise and amazing are more common now than ever. With Sedation Dentistry, you don’t have to be afraid anymore.  After you review the sedation dentistry we utilize, you'll see dentistry in a whole new light.  Read more about our sedation dentistry in Grand Rapids here.

Cleanings

The American Dental Association recommends brushing your teeth twice a day with ADA-accepted fluoride toothpaste. Replace your toothbrush every three or four months or sooner if the bristles are frayed. A worn toothbrush won’t do a good job of cleaning your teeth. Clean between teeth daily with floss or an interdental cleaner. Decay-causing bacteria still linger between teeth where toothbrush bristles can’t reach. This helps remove plaque and food particles from between the teeth and under the gum line. Eat a balanced diet and limit between-meal snacks. Our Dentists strongly suggests visiting regularly for professional cleanings and oral exams.

Periodontal Therapy

Periodontal disease
is an infection of the tissues that support your teeth. Your gum tissue is not attached to the teeth as high as it may seem. There is a very shallow v-shaped crevice called a sulcus between the tooth and gums. Periodontal diseases attack just below the gum line in the sulcus, where they cause the attachment of the tooth and it’s supporting tissues to break down. As the tissues are damaged, the sulcus develops into a pocket; generally, the more severe the disease, the greater the depth of the pocket.

Periodontal diseases are classified according to the severity of the disease. The two major stages are gingivitis and periodontitis. Gingivitis is a milder and reversible form of periodontal disease that only affects the gums. Gingivitis may lead to more serious, destructive forms of periodontal disease called periodontitis.  At Cascade Cosmetic and Family Dentistry, we use a scaling technique to remove calculus and plaque that is causing the infection of the gums.

Dental Sealants

Dental sealants
act as a barrier, protecting the teeth against decay-causing bacteria. The sealants are usually applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (premolars and molars) where decay occurs most often.

Root Canal Therapy

Once upon a time, if you had a tooth with a diseased nerve, you’d probably lose that tooth. Today, with a special dental procedure called a root canal therapy you may save that tooth. Inside each tooth is the pulp which provides nutrients and nerves to the tooth, it runs like a thread down through the root. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue dies. If you don’t remove it, your tooth gets infected and you could lose it. After our dentist removes the pulp, the root canal is cleaned and sealed off to protect it. Most of the time, a root canal is a relatively simple procedure with little or no discomfort involving one to three visits. Best of all, it can save your tooth and your smile!
